​In August 2022, Dory took a simple yet powerful step—she befriended five children, aged 6 to 8, who were watching her feed a stray dog on a street corner. Ella, Arman, Lian, Jhieanne, and Sheila Mae lives on the streets, often without supervision.

​Dory offered to lead a Bible study, and they eagerly accepted. Using the Bible App for Kids on her phone, they gathered where they could—often at nearby shopping center seating areas. Dory provided notebooks and pencils, enabling the children to take notes and engage in activities. Occasionally, she treated them to meals and helped with schoolwork.

​The impact was profound. The children began to change: less to no cursing, improved school performance, newfound confidence and trusting God through prayer. For instance, after learning about the Ten Commandments, Lian stopped shoplifting. 

​When Dory shared her work with Kelvin and Lucy, they connected her with One Hope, granting access to the Book of Hope. As word spread, more children joined, growing the group to 12.

​In June 2024, during a visit to the Philippines, Kelvin and Lucy met the children. They were moved by the children's circumstances and inspired by their positive response to Dory’s guidance and love.

​Sensing a divine calling to make a greater impact, they prayed for direction. Recognizing the need, they decided to support Dory by establishing a sustainable program and creating a nonprofit organization. Thus, in September 2024, Launch Club International was born.

Excitement is building as the kids prepare to become the first official members of the Launch Club starting in November. In partnership with Back to the Bible Philippines, they will receive age-appropriate Bibles in their language. Additionally, Hunger Free Philippines will provide food and basic necessities for the children’s families. Together, we are committed to transforming lives and building a brighter future for these vulnerable children.
